Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the Light Meter ask for camera permission?

The light meter uses your iPhone's camera sensor to read live exposure values. The camera feed is processed locally on your device and never recorded or transmitted anywhere.

Why does the app ask for location permission?

Location is optional. If granted, it can be used to tag shots in your film roll log. Location data stays on your device and is never shared.

Is my data backed up?

All your film rolls, equipment, and settings are stored locally on your device and included in your standard iCloud or iTunes backups.

Which film formats does the DOF calculator support?

35mm full frame, APS-C, medium format, and large format are supported. You can also add custom sensors via the Equipment Library.

Can I add custom film statuses?

Yes. The film roll tracker comes with standard statuses (In Use, Finished, Sent to Lab, Scanned) and you can define your own to match your workflow.
